Teaching today to protect the ocean of tomorrow.
Environmental awareness begins in childhood. That’s why the “School Education” project is designed to engage the entire education system — from primary and secondary schools to university faculties — through a journey of continuous learning that grows alongside the students, guiding them in their understanding of the marine ecosystem.
The educational programmes are designed and delivered by the Department for the Development of Marine Activities at Underwater Academy, in close collaboration with Green Sea World. Together, they bring not only knowledge into classrooms, but also inspiration, responsibility, and a deep sense of environmental connection.
The sessions with students are interactive, engaging, and memorable experiences that aim to stimulate curiosity, critical thinking, and civic awareness towards the sea and the environment.
Examples of projects delivered:
“Living the Sea, Always Respecting It”
A dynamic session that teaches younger students the key rules for safe and respectful behaviour in and around the sea, using age-appropriate language and interactive tools.
♻️ “A Sea That Breathes”
Through guided activities and interactive simulations, students discover how marine life supports the planet’s oxygen cycle and ecological balance, and how individual choices can help protect the health of our oceans.
🌍 “Small Changes, Big Impact”
A hands-on workshop focused on climate change and its effects on marine ecosystems, offering practical tools for everyday action: from mindful consumption and recycling to reducing plastic and making ethical lifestyle choices.
Through School Education, Underwater Academy and Green Sea World aim to create a new generation of ocean citizens — young guardians of our blue planet, ready to choose consciously and act responsibly.
