The 1st Level Mermaid Course for Adults is a unique opportunity for those who want to learn how to use a monofin and acquire all the techniques to dive safely in apnea. Academic Path:
The course is structured both in theory and practice to provide a complete overview of how to use the monofin correctly and dive safely in apnea. The theoretical part will cover the basics of apnea, such as proper breathing, relaxation techniques, and basic safety information. The practical part, on the other hand, will allow you to put what you have learned into practice in the water, with the assistance of highly qualified instructors.
Equipment Used:
During the course, you will use a monofin, which is the main equipment for moving in the water with style and grace, imitating the movement of a mermaid’s tail. In addition to the monofin, you will be provided with other necessary safety materials to dive in apnea, such as a mask, snorkel, and wetsuit.
Prerequisites:
The 1st Level Mermaid Course does not require any specific prerequisites, but it is important to know how to swim. In addition, you must be at least 15 years old and pass a practical evaluation with a Mermaid instructor by Underwater Academy at one of their selected pools. It is also mandatory to present a sports medical certificate to participate.
Certification:
Once you pass the final exam, a 1st Level Mermaid certificate will be issued, certifying the student’s ability in swimming and apnea diving activities. This certificate is internationally recognized and can be used to continue with the subsequent levels of training.
