📄 Description

The P31 is a former German Navy patrol boat later used by the Armed Forces of Malta. It was intentionally scuttled in 2009 to create a safe, accessible dive site. Resting on a sandy seabed near Comino, the wreck is ideal for divers of all levels — including beginners and those taking wreck or advanced courses. Its intact structure is easy and safe to explore, surrounded by rich marine life.

🐟 Marine life

Schools of damselfish, seabream, salema, scorpionfish, nudibranchs, octopus, and moray eels. The wreck provides a great refuge for observing marine life up close.


🌊 Conditions & safety

Clear waters with excellent visibility. Boat access only. The wreck is safe for both external and internal exploration (some passageways are wide and beginner-friendly). During summer, tourist boats may be present – SMB highly recommended.

P31 was originally part of the German Kondor I class fleet before being transferred to Malta for coastal patrol duties. Its controlled sinking transformed it into one of the most popular and beginner-friendly wreck dives in the Maltese Islands.
